The House

The house, built on 3 levels, has both wood-fired and oil central heating, and was largely restored and renovated with modern plumbing and electrics 20 years ago. Water is heated with gas and solar panel. The lower floor has not yet been converted. With storerooms, a cantina for winemaking and stalls for animals this floor has lovely arched ceilings and original brick floors offering opportunities for conversion as living space. A project to convert this to a 3-room apartment was drawn up but not carried through. It is presently used for storage and utilities.

The House

The middle floor of the house is entered from a front door at the end of the drive on the west side. This leads straight into a large open-plan living/dining/kitchen area with a traditional open Tuscan fireplace. The kitchen has granite work surfaces. Two rooms lead off this: a study (or double bedroom) on the east side and a double bedroom with bathroom en suite (bath/shower, w.c., washbasin, bidet) on the west.

The upper floor has original terracotta tiled floors and consists of a large bedroom/sitting room with 3 windows and a bathroom with bath, w.c., and basin. From this floor are views of neighbouring farms and Volterra on the sky line.
